Pedal Commander Throttle Response Controller
Anyone use one of these things? Worth the ca $300usd?
I find the throttle response of my 2013 R56 naturally aspirated engine to be ........ slow. I'd love a more responsive throttle response.

I found at least two others that are cheaper .... both made in Canada and with free shipping.

The Pedal Commander runs over $500 cdn.
I am greatly leaning towards the Sprint Booster as it has an option that would be really useful for me. I park my car outside and living in the great frozen north, cars need to be warmed up or 10 mins before getting in to drive. The Sprint Booster has a lockable function that does not allow any throttle input. ie the engine stays at idle when the throttle pedal is depressed. Nice anti-theft option for when the car is warming up in the morning.

Wasn't Sprinter Booster one of the first to release for the MINI.

I never bought into that. To me it comes across like the Dohc engine for ford back in the 90's. Where they de tuned the engines before they sold them to people. Then you get a chip and it makes them go faster. They always had the power. And where suppose to be a mechanic's friend. As you engine got older they mechanic would raise the power level via the computer.
People abused that way of doing things 25 yrs ago.
What that is. IF IT WORKS. Is like a piggyback unit to increase the throttle electronically through the drive by wire throttle.
It does work for the most part. Just remember you can't get something from nothing.
In the end Mini Cooper tuned the throttle just fine for me. What I did by to increase the smoothness of acceleration was this.

sealing up air leaks from the intake manifold to the engine will. after that it would be a matter of camshaft upgrades(too hard to do I know). How to get the car in lower. would be a header pipe upgrade you would be able to keep your stock catalytic convertor. On ebay they have them cheap would not be too loud. The throttle response itself would still be lacking something. But the follow through; which is the second step part of that problem. My turbo version had the same problem. delayed throttle response and....as your accelerating say through a stop light the delay between 1 and 2nd gear or 2nd and 3rd I don't know which. But there was a delay there also. A exhaust manifold. would definitely take care of that and would not be any louder. Just give the engine that needed space in the header to create the power to get through intersections without delay.
After that it would be throttle commander of course rather than sprint booster or something expensive. I totally agree.
But that second half of the problem would still be there.
My JCW header I was running on my Cooper S and that is exactly how it acted with a nice little boost of low end. Of course I have the ability to tune a turbo to get rid of that delay in throttle. but the exhaust manifold did work better than a stock Cooper S.

I bought a Sprint Booster and it is a huge difference from whatever the ECU thinks it is doing. The Sprint booster works so well that I can feel the difference when my wife puts it in sport mode, where I like it in race mode.
