Here in some inside info to the problem. Have a search for what the user "oxfordmini" had to say about the whole problem in the thread named "Bizarre Left Pull Remedy-Official." it is long but it has some good info in it.
Also these two feb 02 S do they have the 17" on and had the dealer fitted the new suspension to them?
I have driven a few late build cars and it is not a problem. Also remember that by design (and law in OZ I think) that cars must drift off to the left at a slow rate, so if the driver falls sleep at the wheel he crash into Skippy and not a truck coming the other way. I drive a Falcon as a company car sometimes and I know this drift to the left as well.
As BMW au is very proactive in fixing this problem on early build cars if it arises. So rest assured it won’t be a problem.
