Hi Guys,

Had my '52 plate Cooper S :red: for about a week now and I've already noticed a problem. :(

I think it's more noticeable once the engine has warmed up. It sounds like a belt is slipping, that kinda noise.

It's quite loud but disappears when I depress the clutch. I've had the bonnet up and it seems to be (im not very technical ) the belt at the end of the engine, on the left side as you look at it. The one that does round the alternator and "other stuff" lol.

The dealer says "the poly belt is just chattering" and changing it might cure it for a while but it'll just start happening again cos it's a common problem. Also costly as the engine will have to come out etc :frown:

Any ideas what I can do guys? It's kinda embarrassing more than anything

Thanks for your help, in advance

Phil
