Hi first post so hello to everyone.
I am seriously thinking of buying a Cooper S.
Car I've seen is a dark silver ex demo on a 08 plate which is fully loaded with nav, hi-fi, chilli pack, panoraminc roof etc.
Can any of you guys who have a Cooper S answer my questions below please.
What can expect in real world mpg ?
Do the Cooper S's come with a aux in to take an ipod ?
The car I've seen has the multi function wheel, will the car have cruise ?
Is the upgraded Hi- Fi any good and is it Harman Kardon system ?
How does the clubman handle compared to the hatch ?
How do the Cooper S engines respond to a remap and how do they handle with the extra power ?
Lastly should I buy one (silly question on a Mini forum, but thought I'd ask) ?

Sorry for all the questions but need to be 100% before I take the plunge.

Cheers Noodles.

I get on average (with mostly town driving) 35/37mpg :)

Yes, its underneath the centre console ;) Have to control the songs by the iPod though...or you can choose to have the interface which goes in the top glove compartment, the iPod can then be controlled with steering wheel controls etc

Yes it does :D

I dont have it, but personally I dont think its needed, though im sure a lot of people would disagree, depends how you listen to your music really :)

How does the clubman handle compared to the hatch ?

I dont own one, but boy have I driven enough of them this year (dont ask!), and I find it handles just as well as the hatch :D Still takes corners like a dream ;)

How do the Cooper S engines respond to a remap and how do they handle with the extra power ?

No idea :p Get the JCW kit installed :p

Lastly should I buy one (silly question on a Mini forum, but thought I'd ask) ?

Definatly :D I love mine :D
Answers in bold above :D Welcome to MINI2 :D

I recently bought a Clubman S, and on my first tank I got 45mpg, second tank 44.2mpg. A lot will depend on your driving style, and the type of roads you travel. My driving has been a mixture of motorway, A roads, and country lanes.
If you drive it hard, it will return less, but an average of 45mpg is achievable easily.
I think supa-dupa has answered everything really.
If you get it, you will love it.

Have a look on the Cherished site before taking the plunge!

Plenty of ex demo's in that colour so it may pay to shop around! ;)
That's where I seen the car.
I did read that they where finding the Clubmans hard to shift but the ones I have rang about this week have all been sold.
I would like a peeper white one with the black roof but there are none in my price range with the spec I want so the next colour was dark silver.

I love that Dark Silver, and if it had been available in a Cooper Clubman I probably would have chosen it.

Welcome to MINI2, by the way. :)

Upgraded Hifi is much better then the standard one, I have compared them side by side and obviously pushed them a little.... If the car has it then you're in luck but the standard one is still quite good.

Good one, just make sure you press the Sport button before you drive off each time you start it :)

Thats what I do now  So far ive watched my mpg go down :p Brilliant fun though :D
I ran my last tank with the Sport button on nearly the whole time, and averaged 48mpg (OBC & calculated from fuel used)

Amazing! Although I have been using cruise control where possible.
