Hey all, just purchased a 2007 sidewalk convertible with 74k, steering very heavy , fitted a recon pump but still the same, universal joint rusted so loosened and applied wd40 still no change... have just been looking online tho and have noticed I have no fan at all covering the ps pump, next steps advice please, try not to suggest the scrap heap cos already thought about that... thanks in advance

not all had pumps cooper s did most models had them that got exported to very hot county's, would guess the steering rack and its hydraulic motor part have got damaged from from debris maybe from the first failed pump rarely happens,but sometimes tiny particles of metal act like grinding paste on the seals also worth checking the high pressure pipes from motor to rack have not been twisted or kinked
