Hi unfortunately problems have prompted me to join but reading through seems like a really useful sight to be a member of.
A am the proud owner of a 2001 Mini Cooper this morning the steering just went! It was very difficult to streer so only drove about 1/4 mile. I rang the AA but when they came the steering had returned to normal. After tire and alternator checks the macanic said my power steering pump is playing up and I need a new one. Is he just getting on the band wagon? Or is this likely to be the problem? And if so do I need to have it done ASAP? Thanks in advance for any words of advice ?
