PDI for short.

Just curious to see what they do for a PDI?

My car has arrived at my chosen Mini dealer but they want 4 days to do the PDI.

I'd rather they took their time but was wondering what they check.

Any ideas?

Hi, congratulations on the new car. :D

I can't tell you what is involved in a PDI - but my guess is the dealer has quoted four days because they've taken delivery of a group of cars, and need four days for them all.

Yup excatly as per above.... it doesn't take four days to do a PDI, but it may take four takes for your car to pass through your dealers PDI centre.

I've offered a bribe of French plonk if he can get it to me earlier.

See how we go.

Worst case is Monday 9:30

*Runs to Google to look up the definition of "plonk"*

 Hmmm... it's either
  1. Usenet jargon for adding someone to a kill file.
  2. British slang for cheap wine.
  3. Old British slang for a female police office.
  4. The action of one object striking another (e.g. "Plonk yourself down on that sofa.")

From this, I can only conclude that you're going to bribe your dealer with a female police officer from France.

How very interesting.

That's a fine way to roll.

If I was your dealership man, I'd find that a pretty good additional incentive to deliver early. :D

Hope it works out, and enjoy the car when it arrives! ;)

All the best,
Andrew.

I really just want it now. The next few days will be hell.

I hope he does want the bottle of pop and pushes the PDI through. It'll make me a happy bunny.

Just called the dealer and the sales guy wasn't even in cause he's hurt his shoulder. Poor bugger.

So I spoke to another person at the dealer and offered the same deal, no dice :(

So Monday it is!

ROFL very good

Nah I offered him a bottle of Dom Perignon 99 if he can get it sorted.

That's how I roll.
Max - I love how you roll! :D:D
You remind me of when homer simpson changes his name to "Max Power" and has a similar no compromise attitude..

....Max Power does not abbreviate!

Why compromise if you know what you want?

To answer this, basically the dealer tests out your cars suspension, engine, tyres and interior by taking three of his mates from the workshop down to the pub via some country roads. He does this to remove any unwanted materials from your tyres/brakes etc and to give it a thorough "road test". They may also test out your cigarette lighter for you, which is very kind.

Finally, they get it valetted and reset the mileometer so you are non the wiser :D

If you are still unsure I ask you to go rent "Ferris Beuler's Day Off" and watch the Ferrari scene at the Valet Car Park....
