I'm so excited! My Countryman should be under production at the Oxford plant as I am typing this! This area of the forum looks pretty...lean. Is anyone else waiting on an order?? I feel like I did waiting for my first child!
The R60 was built in Austria, the F60 its built in the Netherlands.
"The contract for Countryman 2 was awarded to VDL, the bus maker which BMW has an agreement with for Mini assembly at the former Nedcar plant at Born in the Netherlands."
I, too, thought that it was going to be built in the Netherlands but in the Mini Owner's Lounge is says that my vehicle is in production in the Oxford plant! It is due to complete production on May 30th, 2017. I was surprised it is there and not the Netherlands. Do you think order tracking might be wrong?
Ok, so curiosity got the best of me and I called. Lounge still says Oxford; I'd thought the Netherlands like @brassd (since it's and F60), but on the phone they think it's Austria. I guess I don't really care as long as it IS being built, right?!??

Ack, so today apparently really IS the day. For production to begin. I don't know why the date kept changing, but an email from the dealer last night said the database was showing today.
And my F60 was officially born last night! It was waiting for inspection when I got my update. Not too shabby so far since we just submitted our specifications to the dealer on Friday, May 12th. 3 weeks ago!! Waiting for shipping is going to kill me, isn't it?
Floating in the middle of the Atlantic! Set to hit Baltimore, MD, late next week via WW. Glad the TS Cindy won't affect the ship much. I'm hoping to be behind the wheel by mid July Looks like the REAL production facility was Born, Netherlands!
Just a waiting game now then, if it helps at all your going to really love it when it arrives,
and you have time to decide on the name you are going to give it in the mean time....

Excitingggg!!
I drive past the Oxford plant every month or so as one of my sons lives quite close. It has a funky exterior. Big new building going on. They do tours. I need to get one booked. Love to see how they are made.

Hi guys just joined the forum. I’m trying to return a mini to a dealer I bought it from a week ago. It has leaky valve stem oil seals that have damaged the o2 sensors. My question is this. If I’m not successful returning the Cooper how much would I be looking at to get it fixed? It’s a 2009 Mini...
The delays I'm experiencing with my car at the moment have led me to wonder what experience have most others had with the accuuracy of their delivery dates?
I know the US has the Owners Lounge, but the UK, Ireland and Eurpoe in general doesn't have access to that system.
Just for curiositys...
My MINI was received and booked on 04-20-2016 and "returned to shipper" on 04-28-2016. Anyone with insight into what this means and how long it might take for her to actually get on a boat? The wait is excruciating!
Placed a deposit to one of the San Francisco Bay Area dealerships for 2018 countryman PHEV in July and haven't received any Production number or VIN from them.
Got a call from the dealership last week and was told the longer lead time than 8 to 10 weeks because of many orders of this PHEV.

I have a 2014 mini countryman (R60?). It has the air scoop attached to the hatchback. I have been attaching bike carrier strap clips into the hinge gap. I was recently told that this will possibly damage and/or remove the scoop. Is this true?
