If I get the 15% Alta pulley installed, does the OBC need to be reprogramed for it?
Can the OBC be reprogrammed? Mine has been 10-15% over-optimistic on MPG since day one :(

The ECU is adaptive. You don't need to get an ECU remap, but getting one tailored for your performance upgrades will mean extra horsepower / torque and better driveability.

Aha! Then would I go to a dealer and say, "I got a cold air intake and a pulley reduction, please make it work," or where else could I get it done?

The dealer won't help you with an ECU remap. Any aftermarket modification could be cause for denying a warranty claim if the dealer can link it to the cause of a failed part. For example, if you install a reduction pulley and your supercharger fails, it will not be covered under warranty. However, since the JCW Kit uses a reduction pulley there's not much chance of this happening.

As for ECU remaps, there are lots of choices ... AmD, Evotech, GIAC, MTH, Powerchip, Shark, Unichip. MTH seems to be the current rage as it is the cheapest:

Wow, thanks! Can any reasonable Mac user with a borrowed PC laptop do it?

Go check another thread here that talks about MTH Cartune. It's probably the most economical yet effective way to tune your car. Otherwise, getting a professional tuner to do the job is very very expensive (i.e. Over USD2K). Believe me......
