Purchase price on a MINI, some advise please

Hi guys,

Below is a breakdown of the car I'd like to purchase. Now I have a few questions.
Did everyone who purchased their MINIs here start the negotiations off by asking for a dealers best price above the base INVOICE price (minus the options, just the base price)and work from there? Also this might be a stupid question but has anyone bought their MINIs below INVOICE price? I recently bought a 2004 BMW 330ci and this was my strategy when I bought my car and it worked very well. Now I don't know what the demand for the MINI is but I recently got an email from a dealer where he said straight off the prices on MINIs are not negotiable and that they sell them for the MSRP price and nothing else. I wanted to know if that was true or not.

Also does anyone know if this forum has any resident MINI salespeople which I can ask about these questions?

Thanks so much for the advice I'm looking forward to joining the MINI world are well!!! Great cars!!!

not sure how it works in the US, but I know that demand is just as high there as it is here, and there are waiting lists for the MINI.

I just ordered my new MINI visited the 4 local dealers, told them all that their was 4 of them that were up for getting my order of £23k, so who would give me the best deal?

No prices were moved from the price list, no matter what or if they lost the sale to their competitors:eek:

The only think I found that was up for negotiation was the trade in value of my current MCS and a few pounds, I mean few off the fitting price of dealer accessories;)

So if you manage to get anything off the list price you will be more than lucky, but you know if you are buying a MINI that residuals are high and the car will retain a high % of its sale value:)

Welcome to MINI2:)

That's about right.
You might "negotiate" some floor mats or something but that's about it.
My experience was full retail price, they offered me a trade in value on a 2004 Toyota that was right between two websites' (Kelly and Edmunds) trade in values. I took them up on it. I asked if they could throw in any extras when I picked it up and they offered the rubber floor mats (which I, of course, took).
