R55 Clubman 2007 Wheel/ tyre limitations

I have an R55 2007 Clubman , with a set of 17"x7,5"J, ET42, rims, that are currently fitted with 205/45-17 tires, that are ready for replacement.
(Original size: 175/65-15)
The rims are fine, and I like a bit of rubber on the tires, so that the ride does not get to hard. So, I just want to replace the tires, within the 5% allowed difference in circumference.
What I want, is to fit the widest possible tires, without getting issues with contact with the wheelarch/wings, or anything else.
I've seen others fit 215/45-17 (+2,8% circumference), without any problems. But I've never seen anyone fit wider tires, 225++.
So, does anyone here have any idea what is possible to fit on this car, without getting into problems. Are the following options possible?:
225/45-17 (+4,15%)
225/40-17 (+0,05%)
235/40-17 (+1,83%)
