Just a few photos of the process involved in making a Hyper Blue MCS into a promo car for Home Building Society.

We have a BEP Cooper to do also...

These cars are being used for stunt driving at Gloucester Park for Telstra Rally Australia. I have been told that there will be high speed paralell parking using nothing but the handbrake...along with high speed reverse flicks etc...

I'll get some photos and video of the cars in action when they appear...

I know how you aould all like 19" original wheels... I would...lets put some pressure on Mini..?

BEP Cooper tomorrow...!

So where do you get the HB metallic stuff from?

That looks superb... what is the length of time that takes you?

Todd
Its not an exact match, but the windows break up the two colours.

This is the 14th of these I have done with this design. The first took two of us 6 hours, this one took about 5 hours by myself.

go to www.response-graphics.com and have alook at what we do...

Thanks mate,

I checked your website out a few months back... pretty neat stuff

I read FHM and saw your work on the mini in there advertising the competition...

Putting two and two together, you are also married to an FHM girl and did a Cooper to advertise her entry in a competition?

Back to your cars...

Do you find there are any wrinkles in the final product, or does it smooth on really well?

Todd
I am married to the girl on the FHM Mini...and I did also do the graphics for FHMon the car as a promo in Perth...

I don't do wrinkles or bubbles of any description...I don't know how you could suggest such a thing.

I set the standard for graphic application in Australia... 3M and Avery ring me for advice on application problems...not the other way round.

I am hurt by your suggestion of wrinkles...my wife doesen't have any either...!!!

As promised, pictures of the BEP, but it looks like Indi blue...????

alexpalex,

Firstly, the work on the Cooper looks great.

And secondly, those shots are probably the best representation Ive yet seen of the BEP. Way more 'purpley' that I had anticipated, and much more vivid that in looks in other pics.

Cheers,
Scotty
Hue and Saturation in Photoshop...brings up the colours a treat...!

It is actually very purple in the sunlight, but for some reason when you take a photo, it looks very blue with no purple..?

I've just dropped off the 2nd car back to Mini, and service told me that Home BS have been in and had 12 tyres changed in one hit, because of the stunt driving practice sessions. All 12 tyres were through to the canvass...

I was also told that we can expect to see high speed reverse flicks, 2 wheel driving and precision handbrake parking tricks, which explains why they needed 12 tyres.

I am glad I didn't lend them my car for practice..!!

well the final tally was...

24 tyres
3 new bumpers
2 windscreens
2 bonnet and front bumper resprays
1 new wheel bearing
a bloody good clean

take a look at the state of these...what a mess...given stick around the super special stage at rally australia.

And a BEP Cooper S chilli pack with JCW bonnet stripes.

Home don't have any...I asked earlier today.

So not unless one turns up from another member.

I think it would be painful to watch, judging by the paintwork and windscreen on the BEP.

It looks like someone gave it a jetwash with a sack of grit...

"Hehe, the funniest hting is that someone will buy them without knowing they were the ones that were raped at Rally Australia!!"

They are on the way back to Melbourne as we speak...so beware..!!!

The tyres were shredded doing reverse flicks and handbeakw turn parking on tarmac...not to mention the burnouts.

Thanks...

It is no problem, they do a pretty good job by themselves...

I have 2 other crash repairs at the moment...

By all means go crash them...it keeps me in my Mini...

We do all sorts of graphics, all the new the Minis leave Autoclassic with some sort of decals now. It is a no cost option to have a plain one...

We do roof kits, bonnet stripes, badges...etc.

Have a look at my gallery, there is more images on there.

Everyone needs at least one mini...

Thanks...

I was gonna ask how I could upload the video on to the site...

NO NEED...!!!

Anyone still fancy a used ( well used ) Hyper Blue MCS, one careful owner...BMW...never reaced or rallied...recently resprayed and repaired...

Its a bargain...go on you know you want to...
