After a bit of advice people?

Washed my car tonight, noticed a new dent on my boot, not huge but i noticed it straight away. Right by my Mini badge...

Now the story is..... Someone in my work this afternoon wrote on my back window, because it was so dirty, and i am pretty sure it would of somehow come from this, usually when walking past my car then might have tools etc on them so could of hit the car? And all day long lorries go past where we park, so could of chipped it by a stone or something?

just wondering if anyone has any advice where to go from this? it has definetly happened in work, this car is my pride and joy, i am only 19 and i pretty much work just for my car, and i am absolutely gutted this has happened as the car is mint, and this dent will stick out soooo much for me now.... You guys know what its like right?

If i dont have a foot to stand on how can i go about getting this out? anyone in UK know of any dent repair people who come out to work??

Cheers guys, Johnno.

Your only real hope is if there is any CCTV in the area.

You want to watch taking it to your garage, they will probably try and charge you over the odds for it, just search on Yell.com for someone in your area ;)

i have a idea of prices for repairs, i used to work in a spray shop. But i dont want to take it there as they would fill/paint etc..

Sorry to hear this mate, im in the same situation as you, when i pick my cooper up tommorow i will be basicly just working for it, and as i have a slight car detailing obsetion i will keep it 'mint'.
this realy gets my back up when people do things such as this and dont even bother to admit to it.
how can anyone dint someones pride and joy and just walk off.
im getting angry thinking about it.
iv just got rid of my 106 rallye and that was 14 year old but still in good condition, however when i parked up some of my 'mates thought i wouldnt mind them leaning on it' i dont think so, buttons on jeans and a car dont mix
but as you'll know dent repair specialists are getting better and better and im sure for a decent price you will get it back to perfect again.
if this was me though i would not be happy untill i had found the person who did it.

Well worth doing for the love of your car.

very difficult to prevent this kind of thing happening.

I was picking my wife up from the train station last night at six o'clock and was waiting outside the station in the car for her.

about half a dozen young yobbos appeared ( roughly 15 to 16 years old ) and began fighting amongst themselves, running round the cars, etc. They started throwing stones at each other and inevitably one hit my cooper.

what do you do ?? if you shout at them all you get is abuse, maybe worse !! and at the end of the day because of their ages there is not a thing that can be done to them !!

and you might even find yourself in court !!

what would you guys have done in this situation ?

found out who done it today, was a friend of mine in work, and he assured me he didnt go near the bodywork, and he loves cars as much as me so i do belive him. Its down to a lorry or something throwing up stones on my bodywork, even though there is a 5mph speed limit they go alot faster!

if someone threw a stone at my car. and dented it.......I would do a eye for a eye,. and dent there face, i wouldnt care if i went to court that is truly disrespecful.

going to get it sorted next week when i have a few days off hopefully.

tbf mate, throwing a stone and denting your car, yea its p*ss annoying, disrespectful and completely out of order, but why is 'denting someones face' not disrespectful? violence isnt the way to go, take THEM to court and let them pay for the damage in money and inconvenience them.

when i got keyed, all my mates said they would 'sort them out', but seeing their faces giving me them money to pay for the damage was kama enough for me.

yes that is true, if you know the person i would make them pay, and that is prob the best way. But if i was waiting somewhere and some guys went past and thew stones at my car you couldnt really get out and say oh excuse me i will take you to court, or get me the cash? hmmm wouldnt really work, different if you knew the guy i think., But saying that i wouldnt smash their face in i would just go mad. It annoys me when i hear stories like that. What is the Uk coming to.

Has anyone tried the process of removing the dent with compressed air and a hairdryer? Not sure if it would work in this situation, but might be worth a thought...

car dent compressed air - Google Search
This is a good tip and you should do a similar search in youtube as it's quite effective depending on the type of dent. no harm in checking it out instead of shelling out what i regard as quite a lot of money (plus ignoring OJM's tip is rather rude too!)
