Rear hatch won't close with button

I have a 2019 Countryman S. A couple of days ago the rear hatch stop working when you push the close button. It still works with the foot motion under the bumper and by pushing the button on the drivers door. It just won’t close when we push the button on the edge/bottom of the hatch.

Any ideas? Again it worked fine until a few days ago. We live 2 hours from the dealer so if possible we’d like to fix on our own. Any suggestions will be welcomed and appreciated.
