reasonable rear sway bar cost

932 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mini-is-4-me
I have reviewed the posts on the forum about sway bars and have decided on a NM 22 or 25. My question is about cost. Several places in town will install one for prices between $650-$1000. I am not mechanical enough to do this myself. Anyone have an opinion on what a reasonable charge would be to provide a sway bar and install it?
Thanks!

Is that for labour cost only or includes the sway bar?

If it includes the part then probably fair price as the part is ~$400 for the $650 quote maybe ~2-3 hrs. The $1000 seems a bit steep ~4hrs+.

Thanks- I was looking at price with bar and labor included.
I've seen the sway bar at $650 if you go with top of the line and upgraded to larger diameter, more heavy duty bushings that may even be serviceable (lubrication nipples). The high priced bushings are $150 for a pair. Also, are they changing out the end links as well? Those go from $25 a pair to another $150 a pair with the same lubrication capability.
