Hi all, 2013 Mini Cooper 1.6L Turbo Automatic.

Dealership said the map thermostat was bad, so we replaced it ourselves to save money. Coming back from the test drive the car went into reduced engine power. There are no codes showing though. Any advice please?

just because have no eml light on dont mean there is no faults stored, need to scan it with a scan tool that will cover P-codes ie dealer only, see what its doing autocom or wurth snooper will do full function under £50 on any car on the road from 1998-2017 on the snooper 2016 on autocom cdp plus,
would check the correct temperature sensor is fitted to housing, i believe mini had a recall for temperature and housing at some point due to ecu glitch, also have seen ecu get damaged if get a positive to earth fault code for the circuit, been dealing with one on a citroen last week had that and took down the bsi body control and canbus network for it
