Hey all

I have a 2005 MCS with aerokit and am looking to remove the number plate holder in order to fit small plates direct onto the bumper.

Does anyone know how this is done and whether it is legal?

Cheers

Matt

dont know much about the legalities but smaller plates are illegal
but i have donr the same thing using standard size plates,
just used the holes from the number plate holder to screw in the plates,
it moves your plate slightly higher and shows off more of the lower grill,
looks good,

Unless the plate is of the regulation size/design/colour and the lettering/spacing is to the standard set out by the DVLA, then you can get a fixed penalty if stopped by the police. If they want to be nasty they can confiscate your plates, make you leave the car where it is and go and get new ones made up before you can drive away

i did that the other week too.removed the holder and fixed it directly to the bumper to increase air flow through the bottom half of the grill, looks much better too i think.

Remember to fix the new plate on with heavy duty velcro.

Also if you put a 3/4 plate on, you will have two exposed screw holes from the plate holder :(

That's why i fitted my own Aero Kit, no holes, not even a front numberplate now :D
