removing the standard speakers

Could anyone tell me how to take out the speakers in the doors and in the back so i can replace them with uprated ones. Most importantly how do you take off the speaker grills without breaking them.

Also could you tell me if any 8" speaker will fit in the front and will any 6x9" speaker will fit in the back

Thanks

There is a good guide for this in the FAQ section under removing interior bits. If you stick
to 6.5" fronts you won't need to remove the speaker grills. The grills are part of the door
trim and not directly attached to the speakers. The rears are all ready 6x9's but when I
upgraded mine I had to enlarge the cut out slightly. I'm sure you could fit 8" in the doors
if are prepared to put the effort into it. For a 6.5" you'll have about 70-75mm of depth to
play with. This may be less for an 8 which may foul the metal door skin so you'll need to
take the door trim out and measure up to be sure. Removing the door trim is simple and
quick.
i have looked at the faq's section and it tells you how to remove the rear seats but it didnt say how you get the cards off to replace the speakers. is it difficult to take the pannels off after that.
also could you tell me what is behind there and how much space there is

Like most trim it is held in place by a few screws, mainly at the rear if I remember correctly,
and then just pop fasteners that come out when you pull the panel hard enough. You'll need
to remove the rubber piece around the seat attachment point as well as pulling up the seal
around the base of the window. Inside there is room for some fairly hefty 6x9's but you can't
fit anything bigger without cutting into the metal which is structural. There is room for a small
amp either side as well. Before you start buy a dozen spare fasteners, you'll break a couple
every time you take the panel off and put back on. I've added a picture of one.

Thanks for the advice. i have one 6x9 in and i will do the other one tomorrow. i tried to do it without taking the seats out but that is just not possible thats why it took so long. after i got the seats out the only thing i had to do was to trim the metal slightly to fit my new 6x9.
thanks
take a look at newministuff.com

thay helped me put in my new front components. i also replaced the grilles in the front door as the pioneer components are pretty flashy and you couldnt see them with the standard grilles

Very nice ... was it an easy job?
quite simple

It took me, with no experience, about 5 hours for both dorrs including adding tons of sound deadening, take ur time and it should be no problem
