Please could someone help.. I'm trying to replace back speakers in my mini cooper s 2003 model.. After taking just the rear panelling off on the passenger side and removing speaker I have 4 wires connected to the old speakers.. Please could someone help explaining why there is four.. Yellow and green and yellow and grey.. Then blue and red and blue and brown.. I would appreciated if someone could help me with this.. Thankyou

No idea then, usually when there’s two lots of wiring, one pair is the wires to that speaker and the other pair the wires to another (such as a tweeter).

Maybe a previous owner has piggybacked off this speaker to run a subwoofer?

Check the other rear speaker to see if that only has two wires.

Looking at the wiring diagram the HK rear speaker appears to have two voice coils.
