Hi all,

I just received my 05 MCS :D . The position of the clock is terrible  .
The trip meter is shared on the same position. Both are usefull to me.
Also those two leds in the headliner are almost useless  .

I wonder if someone has retro fitted the clock from an earlier build Mini.
Any fitting problems?
And what is the part number of this clock?

Thanks in advance :dark:

Anyway to fit it without the dimming part ?
I don't dim the lighting much anyway, just keep it on one level.

As mentioned is it self contained?
I would give it a try, but I'm not a electrical or mechanical Whizz.

Does anybody have a thought or a creative way to add a clock to the MC Cabrio.
There clock is difficult to read.
Even some type that can be installed using double stick tape.

Mini Cabrio Retro clock :D

Yeah, the absence of a decent clock (that doesn't share the trip odometer) is a bite.

I haven't checked, but does VDO (the manufacturer of MINI gauges) sell a VDO analog clock? Such a clock would fit perfectly under the toggle switch panel on the dash.

We could probably purchase the blank plate used in the gauge package, fit the VDO clock, and either blank off the other gauge hole or put another nice VDO gauge in there. Wiring for an analog clock is a breeze, BTW.

Just a thought.

The leds are just show you where to find the buttons in the dark.... which then turn on two bright map lights! These work rather well! The leds are quite cool - they cast an orange glow down the middle of the dash which I like.

But I agree - I want my clock back! Also its impossible to set the dash-clock to the nearest second or adjust it without completely resetting it!
