Rev counter M3 style

Was I right in thinking or reading that the Rev Counter on the S does a little countdown with the lights around its edge as the engine warms up.

AKA M3 Stylie?

Or did I dream it,

(those dream do seem so real at the moment!)

I have inquired about this sometime ago. Check the bottom of the thread for the brief posting regarding this.

From testdrives and looking at various coopers, I do not recall seeing some orange lights before the red lights so can't say if it does a similar 'countdown' as in the M3 and M5. Nonetheless, it's great they have those lights in the rev meter since it's unique (as far as I know) to M3, M5, and MINI! :)

here's a pic of the rev meter courtesy of Jason Livingood:

there are some unlighted 'slots' before the red lights so maybe it does indeed work the same as M3/M5?

Those unlit sections, and lit lines are exactly the same as mine......I am certain, that they dont change......honestly !!:)
