Roof issue - not seen a problem like this on the forum ?

Hi there,
We have an issue with my daughters Mini Cooper S convertible and i would be very grateful for any help.
The sun roof opens as normal (some roof section) and then the rear windows drop but not along with the front windows as usual.
At this point nothing further happens although behind the drivers seat in the vehicle cavity approximately behind the rear speaker I can hear relay clicking.
The parcel shelf microswitch is not fouled is anyway and when I release it it brings a Warning light on the dashboard So it works okay.
The light that can flash flash adjacent to the roof switch overhead does not illuminate as others are experiencing on this forum.
If anyone can help before I take it to a dealer it would be really appreciated.
TIA

You may be able to replace the convertible control module located in the trunk of 2009-2010 second gen convertibles. (Found on e-bay for as little as $65). If your mini is first gen these parts are even cheaper. I have a similar issue with my 09 Mini S convertible but my sun roof wont open but if i manually open it with the tool it comes with as soon as i get it open the hydraulic portion works fine. I've replaced the control module i talked about and the sunroof motor and these both didn't fix the issue. I've been told that the foot well module may be the culprit. any one have any suggestions?

The clicks are the relays making contact from pressing the top switch, so the switch is working, and I believe this is one where the control module behind the left rear speaker panel is bad. these are available on e-bay for like 40-50 USD, and that seems to fix the issue. (When you purchase a used one you don't need to program anything, just plug and play).
