Hi there,
The lacquer on the roof of my 2008 Mini One has peeled quite badly (see pic) - I took it to BMW and they confirmed it's the original paint, however they only have a 3 year paint guarantee so they can't cover it. They also confirmed that the bonnet had been repainted at some point (I only bought it last year). I'm thinking of having the roof wrapped in black as it's cheaper than having it repainted. I've been quoted £160 (Durham, UK) to have it done, and I'm considering wrapping it myself instead as it seems about £25 for the vinyl (see here) - could anyone recommend a walk through video or similar on how to do it/provide any info on whether it's possible for a novice to do? The job doesn't have to be perfect as the paintwork in general isn't great, but wrapping should improve the look of the car a bit at least!

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Pay to get it done. It is not an easy job. Takes time to learn how to wrap cars.

Wrap it in gloss and you will see the surface difference where the lacquer has peeled.

Ultimately a respray is the most thorough job.
