I'm looking to buy a second-hand Clubman at the moment, and I test-drove one earlier today. The onboard computer says that a brake fluid change is due by 10/2020, so I asked the salesperson if they'd do it as part of the pre-sale service.

She said that she wasn't sure because changing the fluid too early might confuse the car.

I'm deeply skeptical that's true but I've been wrong before, so I thought I'd check.

BS.
All they need to do is reset the service
interval after changing, just like they’d do if they waited till October to do it.

Walk away, if a sales person is prepared to refuse a fluid change what else are they skimping on.

Thanks for the advice! They changed their mind in the end, so I'll be joining the ranks of the Mini Clubmen later this week! :)

That was such a BS excuse to save themselves money. Glad it is sorted and welcome to Mini ownership and to the forum.
