I've just noticed from reading the technical specifications for the Cooper S that the battery is fitted in the rear. Where abouts is this, is it in the boot like the old Mini?

Geez, if you stick a battery in the boot next to the CD changer my briefcase won't fit.

I seriously don't where they would put a battery in the boot?

Cheers

Yes the battery is in the boot. I had a chance to glimpse at it during the Detroit Auto show. The boot looks normal then you pull up the covering and there she is! It's as if there was a spare tire under there or something. I think I have heard that they did this because of weight distribution and there wasn't enough room under the bonnet.

With the 'S' battery in the center under the floor of the boot flanked on both sides by mufflers, there is no room there for CD changers, spare tire, briefcases, or even a six pack.
