Hi guy's & girl's,
I'm just about to purchase a JCW GP2 number 1851 and what I've notice some do have the numbers of car on roof but the one I'm buying doesn't ????? would it of came with the numbers ?
I've rang my local BMW MINI shop and they say the decals are £130 + vat ??????
would that be correct ? seems hi for two decals only 6 letters in.
See post #8. It says:
MINI is providing accurate production sequence numbers for anyone who asks. Many GP2 owners have added the number to their roof using the standard GP font and it looks great.
The decision to omit roof numbers on the GP2 was a mistake. It was the decision of product planners. MINI claims that it was due to certain markets having superstitions about specific numbers.
MINI USA responded to local market demand by designing and adding roof numbers. They were assigned in sequence of production for the US cars, 0001-0500. It would have been far better if they simply started worldwide from GP2001 and continued the sequence. In 2006 it was a clever way to bring a uniqueness to cars which were otherwise identical.
