The first time I heard these songs, I got goosebumps all over. They both totally blew me away. When I saw them performed live, it happened again. :)

Birthday - The Sugercubes
Can't be sure - The Sundays

Hasn't happened since.... :(

Paul Weller's You Do Something To Me is the first that comes to mind but there are loads if the music is live, loud, my eyes are shut and I get totally lost in it. Must be wonderful to be a musician and actually play the stuff. Saw Jools Holland last week and the guitarist in the band could have been on his own on the stage.... totally into it, smile all over his face, really "feeling" it and playing for himself as much as the audience. Cool guy

"Space Oddity", David Bowie...the first song I heard on the radio after learning of the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986. :(

Yep, good spot. I won't watch this film with anyone else.

I love playing this song - the words and music are extremely moving.

Everybody Hurts by REM is another one that gets me going.

I remember hearing that for the first time, as the exit music for the film "Romeo and Juliet" - the Claire Danes / Leo DiCaprio version. Awesome. One of the few times I've actually sat through the credits of a film. Then came the waiting for actually getting to hear it again. It wasn't on the soundtrack. It wasn't on the second soundtrack. At least it did finally make it onto an album.
