Hi, I brought a mini one, last weekend, after a couple of days the steering pump went, I’ve replaced it but it will turn on and the wheel will turn fine, then I’ll turn the car off and start it again and the steering wheel again doesn’t turn without force, the mechanic can’t seem to find what’s wrong. I’m really stuck. I’ve rang around other garages, checked fuses, alternator! Can anyone give me a idea to what I could be missing? Thank you.

Great question. I'm experiencing the same problem on a 2002 I just acquired. Replaced the (expensive) pump, but still nothing. I'm hoping that an OBD scanner can talk to that system and see if it can identify any problems with related systems. I'll be keeping my eye on this topic.

Let me know if you have any ideas! I got in touch with the company I brought the pump off and they are sending another one. I’m hoping it’s just another faulty pump. If you find anything let me know!
