Has anyone else experienced having mini badges nicked off their mini. We had the mini badge taken off the boot last night. Kids probably, it used to be the dust caps now this. Comes with having such a desirable motor i suppose, but its irritating the eff out of me. If anyone else has suffered how much are the new badges?

Nightmare

Had a mate who had VW Bug. He was living in Newcastle at the time and the bonet badge kept getting knicked, usually involving a good old scratching of the surrounding paint work.

My friend got a little annoyed at this so he purchased a second pig pen transformer (for electric fencing) and mounted his new badge on a rubber grommet. The addition of a 12 volt car battery completed his defencive arrangement.

A while later he returned to his car to find the badge still in place, but all his windows smashed in.

Guess the would be Beastie boy took exception to getting the shock of his life!

Sadly, my mate bought a Datsun Sunny after that!

the dustcaps getting nicked really :bad::bad::bad::bad: me off. luckily its mainly kids , so a quick tighten with a wrench is enough to stop them comin off by hand. The badge missing sucks, id contact my bmw dealer for the part, but it might be expensive. Im very protective over my car, and keep an eye out for it where possible. If i see anyone touchin it they gonna get hurt. :bad::bad::bad::bad:es me right off =/

This seems to be a UK thing with the MINI badges. I haven't heard of this in the U.S. Seems like that died out with the MB and Cadillac emblems in the 80s.

s_and_m, your mate should have put an asphyxiative chemical on his badge. (ala "Jackal") The culprit would have been known in the morning. Hahaha... Erm.... :(

I had the badge nicked off my last car whch was a Rover, can't believe any Kids would actually want to nick a Rover badge, it's hardly that cool  I guess it was just vandalism rather than theft.

I was pleasently surprised though when I went to get a replacement as it only cost a couple of quid.

Stolen but recovered minus dustcaps

Actually had my Cooper car keys and then the car stolen last month but was 'lucky' that a friend recognised the car the next day where it had been parked. Amazingly it was undamaged apart from 3 missing dustcaps.

Obviously I have had to have the locks changed.

missing dustcaps

Last summer, I happened upon a lad nicking the dustcaps off our Mini. Luckily, I knew he lived at the bottom of the road, so I followed him home and knocked on the door. Needless to say, his mother was a little mad. It's the thin end of the wedge...

This morning when I got to work I realised that someone had tried to prize off my shark gill vents, they didn't succeed but the indicators were dangling. Grr why can't people leave other people's property alone!

Arrgghhhhh its happened to me!!

i was a little annoyed a month ago when my metal dust caps disappeared, so to stop it happening again i decided to replace them with the highly unattractive black dust caps. this has worked and i still have 4 dust caps on my MCS. but my plan has backfired as last night whilst visiting my nan some little angels (i guess) kindly removed both Mini Badges from my MCS. as you can guess i was (still am) a little p*ssed off, luckily most of the damage caused by the screw driver will be covered by the replacement badges but i'm still a bit annoyed

oh well, i guess all i can do is pickup and replace my badges on thursday, as my local dealer hasn't got any in stock

justin :(
