Hi everyone, just got myself a 2004 mini, beautiful car to drive, just a couple of small problems, the first is the lights behind the heating controls don’t work. Is this a straightforward fix?
The previous owner only had only one key, the manual one that you have to put into the lock. It works fine, opens and locks all the doors, but the toggle switch to lock the car from the inside only locks the passenger side door, nothing happens with the drivers door. Is this a common problem and is there a fix?
Can I get a remote locking key aftermarket?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Looking forward to posting here again

I had to do this in my R52 as half the console didn't light up, no a bad job just allow some time to do it. Good time to change the radio whilst you're there. How to replace a blown bulb in the heater control panel

You can buy a second hand remote key and convert your key this way. (there is a guide somewhere).
The toggle switch should unlock both doors, boot and petrol cap I suspect the actuator may be faulty in the driver's door.
