The Alpine CDA-9851: Alpine's first American MFSW controllable HU ?

Well well, look what I found in the specifications of this 2005 head unit model!

A feature they call "OEM Steering Remote Ready" ...
Could this be what we american motorers have been waiting for ??

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any additional details in the User Manual.

mikey, would you have any more details ?
I sure would love to regain use of my MINI's MFSW! (if that means selling off my brand new CDA-9831 already)
