Turbo intake hose popping off turbo

Hi,

I seem to have a problem with the intake hose on my MCS.. It had popped/slipped off the turbo... so I've cleaned it and reconnected it.. but I'm not sure this will be a permanent fix.. Reading some posts on here.. it seems to be caused by the oil being fed back into the intake and the plastic becoming brittle over time...

Other posts which relate to similar issues - all seem to refer to an orange seal.. (which the MCS doesn't have):

Has anybody else experienced this on an MCS and what was the fixes? - is there an upgraded part or an alternative tube/seal??

thanks! :)

The original hose gets brittle and crack over time. Easier just to replace with silicone hose and T bolt clamp.

thanks for the reply!!

Forge seem to have 2 kits listed.. i think the kit i need for my 2007 MCS is this one?:

It looks as though it repositions the pcv hose from near the turbo to higher up the intake... (is this right.. or am i looking at it wrong?) - does anyone have one fitted/any pictures?..

:)
bought this one off eBay:

seems ok.. should be here on tuesday.. just need to get some proper clamps for it now..
Yes, I use the Samco one and that is the same. The aftermarket silicone hoses moves the sensor further up.

This should help

does anyone know the size of the clamps i'll need to buy? - pressumably, i'll need 6 - 2 larger ones and 4 smaller ones..

fantastic!! - thanks for the link! :)
Not off the top off my head, but if you have time measure the diameter and buy within the range as and tighten to required size ie 45mm - 60mm if diameter is 50mm.

Might even be some measurements if the google.

Just make sure you buy good quality stainless steel clamps especially the one that clamps onto the turbo.

I was just being lazy!!.. i've got a caliper so I'll nip out tomorrow and measure them.. (I'll post back here for reference! :) )

well, managed tog et some free time to fit it today... hardest part was removing the pcv bung thing from the stock/original pcv pip that leads back into the intake hose.. after i managed to wrestle this out.. the install of the new hose wasn't too bad.. overall pretty happy with it.. far cheaper than a stock replacement.. although the end that fits to the air filter could have been angled a bit better - but a minor gripe for what was a cheap and easy fix.. (I also had a look at the stock pipe and there was no orange or green collar on the turbo side - although it looked as though there was a slight recess that would accept one??).

Hi, can I rebump this thread? Mine keeps popping off, I couldn’t work out why, but after removing the feed pipe, I can see the underside of the plastic ring around the seal is broken. Is there a cheap fix? Looks mad to replace the whole thing for one circular piece of plastic.
