a friend of mine has a new cooper really nice one with 17 inch wheels shes nackerd one and has been quoted what seams to be a hugh amount for a new run flat tyre £156 (cost price to the garage). can anyone tell me if this is about average or are they taking the piss?

If it`s a pukka Goodyear or Dunlop 17" runflat then I`m afraid they`re about right with £150.

So they`re not taking the piss.......the tyre manufacturer`s are.

I`d still shop around though, you may be able to find one cheaper.

Given the 17" wheels and tyres are a £780 extra, surely this is a small clue that maybe the tyres will be expensive to replace.

Tyr shopping around but I doubt you will find anyone who can supply you with a Pirelli [email protected] 205/45/17 as they have not been released to tyre suppliers yet, I have tried and no-one in the north west lists them !!. All tyres are going to MINI as far as I know at the moment although this will change in time.

The dealers can't just order them for stock too, they have to quote a chassis number for a replacement for a puntured tyre........stupid or what !!!!
