I just tried to add our new [to us] 2011 R56-S to the Mini Connected app, by keying in the last 7 digits of the car's VIN as requested on-screen. However, the app tells me "This vehicle cannot be registered to your account"

I'm guessing the car may have been added to Mini Connected via the previous owner and the app doesn't want to add it a second time into my account. Is there any way I can clear theprevious registration/association by pairing up the car's Mini Connected system and going through a reset process or something?

Thanks
did you ever get this sorted ??

i ask as i tried this for my 2012 Cooper D thats new to me too & got the same - at the time i assumed it was because times have moved on & they have changed to focus more on the newer models instead of those of us buying older models ( was about ready to jump ship from my android phone to an older apple product to get the full benefits of the connected features on the dash lcd panel etc - dont use my phone for that much so a downgrade in phone would be ok assuming it worked on the car etc - all the owners manual states it has to be apple products )

shame, my mini only has the connected basic bit ( no satnav :( ) but it would have been handy to be able to read txt's nd such on the screen ( if that was at all possible etc ) & the the wider apple integration just to see if anything was handy to use etc, but alas, i failed at the 1st hurdle so saved me buying a phone to use for the car :D

will keep an eye out & maybe ask at my local dealer on my next visit ( probably for more obscure bits my mini had not got ( probably the only one in a hundred or so miles of me with the Torx bits for the emergency screwdriver as well as the standard slotted & philips bit it normally gets lol )

nd ouch on the key, glad my car came with 2, OK 1 needed to be used for a few weeks to get a decent charge back into its battery ( looked like it had never been used since new ) & it kept filling the LCD panels with warnings about the remote needing charging whenever i used it etc ( works fine now though ) - i know mini parts can be expensive though, wanted a centre armrest for my mini as i missed my old motas arm rest for longer drives - but christ on a bike, £210, i did not need one that badly - found a new one on ebay for £130 in the end from a dealer, still more than i wanted to pay but miles better than £210.
