US Buyers..How Close to Your Dealer ?

I thought it would be an interesting poll to see how close we all are to our dealer since there are only 70 dealers in the whole US. If MINI were smart, most of us are relatively close....let's see!

P.S. My dealer (Towson BMW in MD is within 5 miles of my house)

Being in the NY metro area, I am lucky enough to have 8 dealers in a 50-mile radius. There's a MINI of Manhattan which is less than a mile away, but their waitlist was just too long at the time of inquiry. So my dealer is approximately 23 miles from my residence.
The (future) dealer closest to me - 40+ miles - won't be open probably to this fall - next closest in state is 60+ miles away.

Towson BMW is closer - but list way too long when I signed on. (not saying that I may not end up visiting them at some point in the future though).
My closest dealer is only 15 miles away, but they practically guaranteed a markup from MSRP. No thanks, guys. Instead, I put my deposit in at the only other dealer in the State, Hank Aaron BMW. They are only a further 30 miles, so it's not that much of a hardship.
Plus, I just learned today that I'll be getting my car for MSRP.:D
So, am I the farthest at 496 miles from the nearest dealer? (distance from my zipcode to the nearest dealer according to miniusa.com site)

(It's not really I record I want to hold, but until BMW sorts out the dealers in Texas.....:( )
The miniusa.com dealer locator puts me a mere 129 miles from my dealer, which is the closest one, the next closest being 174 miles...

The dealer will be about 60 miles from me, whenever they finish the building. They claimed it would be done in March, but I don't know...

It's the only one in the Cleveland area. The contact at the dealer makes me think that there's going to be a little markup on the MSRP. No thanks-

I am so glad I can get to my dealer in 10 mins from work.

I am also pleased that no dealers in the UK are allowed to charge more than MSRP. They would get shot! :p

I really feel for you guys who have to travel many miles.

There are 5 dealerships here in South Florida. The first place I called (4 miles away) didn't have a list (and wasn't going to), so I called the second closest dealership (10 miles away) and got on their list.
There are 4 dealers within 35 miles of where I live in the SF Bay Area. One as close as two miles but they didn't seem interested in my business (left two messages for MINI SME but got no call back), and besides, mark-up high demand cars (eg. M3). I'm going 31 miles for friendlier service and MSRP.
About 6 miles from my house to Crown BMW/MINI here in Richmond, VA :D
The closest is 11 miles from my house (according to MINIUSA.com). However, there are another 5 within about 20 miles, and one other that's about 45 miles, so luckily I have a bit of choice...just crossing my fingers at least one of them is decent, and the nearer the better...

Actually, I have a customer who will be over 2000 miles from our dealership(I think that's about right.) Anchorage Alaska to Tacoma Washington. Good thing the first oil change isn't til 10,000 miles:p
I live in NC, nearest dealer is perfectly 71 miles away. The drive usually takes a little over 1 hour. Wouldn't be a problem for service, but they couldn't get me a loaner till a was 21!
my nearest dealer is 150 miles away in memphis. dallas and oklahoma city are the next closest at about 340 miles each.
I'd guess by being smart ...

you're guessing that mini did the market research thing to decide where to build their dealerships. Not sure if this poll will get a large enough cross section, but I'll bite.
153 looong milies! Good thing it is mostly interstate.
My dealer is 62 miles from here. VA has 3 MINI dealers, Richmond, Sterling (near D.C. about 100 miles), and Norfolk (too far).

There's talk of the local BMW/Porsche dealer taking on a MINI franchise, but it's just talk at this stage. That would be nice, but then, everyone would get a MINI and mine wouldn't be a novelty any more.

It's nice to be noticed
Bus trip

We are about 20 miles or so from the Downtown Mini dealer in Orlando. We hope our Mini is coming this week. She's in port, unloaded and hopefully going to the VDC soon. My wife wants to ride in the car when we pick it up, so we are going to do about a 2-3 hr bus commute (sad for a 20 mile trip) so we can both bring her home. Going to take a book to read. Am sure it will be a loooooooong bus ride. ;)
