Now, there are many on the market eg K&N etc. I went for the best. Gruppem !!

It was £400 but oh dear was it worth it. The response is incredible.

:eb:
i got the Pipercross induction kit. it's amazing. so transforms the acceleration to a roar.
I got the pipercross and its great. I had people turning around and looking from 100 m ahead ! lol
i put a pipercross pk222 on my (unchipped) cooper & ran it for a week. it seemed to make more noise than power but did make the engine freer revving. then i had a magnex exhaust fitted which combined with the intake made the car too noisy for me, inside it was very boomy between 2000-3000 rpm. over 3000 it quitened down a bit. the power increase however was noticable. yesterday i took off the pipercross & replaced it with the standard filter & box which has improved the sound dramatically. you can now hear the exhaust note much better & the power doesnt seem to have decreased.
mine is chipped with k 7n typhoon induction kit! there is no other like it for the cooper!

Hey! what chip you got? Have you had it on a rolling road ? IF so what you getting from it?
I have the BMC CDA, one of the loudest out there, and one of the best performing & cheaper than a Viper!!
its chipped with amd now, with scorpion twin box centre exit full stainless exhaust and manifold and sports centre section! performance spark plugs and K & N typhoon induction kit with cold air feed and it is putting out around 140+ bhp, will be going on rolling road soon so ill let you know! feels extremely quick at the moment and runs very well.
Cooper Works (Pipercross) and utterly transforms the driving experience.
I have a MCC atuomatic transmission, would any of the kit mentioned above increase the power of my car, and how much HP are we talking about, and which of the kit is approved and installed by BMW?
The only kits...

..."approved" by BMW are John Cooper Works and Dinan kits.

BMW will generally install anything within reason if you are willing to pay labor $$$.

The BMW dealer will frequently also will not hesitate to point out if the "installed component" caused a failure and subsequently will void the BMW warranty on any factory components that failed due to the aftermarket bit(s) installed. They do have to prove this happened as a result of a "non-factory" modification however.

A high quality aftermarket exhaust should be no problem, however, I have seen dealers quibble over intakes and even panel filters (because of the oil impregnated in them). They tend to get very harsh over any aftermarket ECU mods.

Some here will undoubtedly say "go for it"... mod away...

I tend to lean towards "better safe than sorry"...

My mods will be of the factory variety whenever $$$$ possible.. at least until I no longer have the car under factory warranty.

Question is, is the power obtain HP wise and the feeling worth the risk?
