hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has tried launching their MCS. I hate the open differential, too much tire spin. Too high rpm causes the tire to spin too much, too low rpm bogs the launch. I've experimented at 4000 and 3000. Any suggestions? besides installing a LSD? lol. any feed back is greatly appreciated.

I have found that between 2500 and 3000 is the correct range to launch a stock cooper s. If it is done just right you will experience a bit of wheel hop and just enough wheel slip to keep the motor from bogging. Also try slipping the clutch out instead of dumping it. I personally don't do that since it makes me cringe just imagining all that organic material wearing down. Also make sure your intercooler is ice cold. Makes a huge difference.

I have the best results on a cool but not cold day, dry pavement, 3500-4000 rpm's like mentioned don't dump the clutch but slipping it out also try "feathering" the accelorator at the same time to limit wheel spin. :D :D :D
