Hey folks,

I'm sitting here on annual leave today trying to think of what I can do to my MINI today, and there's a BMW wrecker about 20 minutes from here..... I'm thinking of seeing if they have any CD Changers in stock, but I know that only from a certain model year onwards works in MINI's. Does anyone know what year BMW changed the interface on the CD Changers?

As far as I know its always been the same in Mini
BMW have changed quite a few years back

BMW went from the old system to the current i-bus system starting with MY 1996.

I am not sure if they changed the connectors for i-bus though. There might have been a change of connectors around 2001, but I am not sure. Anything after 01 should work, and anything between 96 and 01 might work.

This is what you need to match up.....

To mount the CD changer you will need the following from your MINI parts dept:

1 x Bracket - 65 12 6 912 286
4 x Screws - 88 10 0 141 191 (to attach the changer to the bracket)
3 x Self Tapping Screws - 51 45 8 236 618 (to attach the bracket to the bodywork)
