When my windows are fully up there is quite a gap between the seal and the side edge of the window itself. Dealer says it is "normal for this type of car". However looking at other cooper clubmans, they do not seem to suffer this. I was told there were adjuster screws at the bottom of the door to adjust the angle of the window. I have an 08 clubman. Any help would be appreciated.

window problems

hi there, i have a 54 plate mini one convertible and have the same problem, it affects both near and off side windows and there is at least a 1cm gap between the seal and the window. It only happens intermittantly, the dealership told me the same as they have done you, its common and nothing to worry about!? i dont have a long term fix, but when it happens, i find that putting all the windows down and putting them back up one at a time they seem to meet each other properly and fix into place! bit of a waste of my time everytime it happens but at least it gets them shut temporarily!

Just neeeds a reset at dealers, or specialist can do it. The software they use resests some of the electric functions the MINI has, clever stuff really!

But hey n` "joy" as BMW say :)

Ask a bmw dealer to reset it for you ;)...when I changed my mirror, the window did this...then I took it to the dealer and it was sorted :)

On the standard cooper there are two adjusters at the bottom of the door that change the angle of the glass to increase or decrease the top gap in or out (not up or down), if the glass has to slide left or right there are two large nuts with allen key sockets in them, that grip the glass inside the door, I know all this as some kids smashed mine and i replaced it myself and had to set the adjusters to make it fit nicely, if the window glass is not going all the way up to the top then that cannot be changed by the adjusters.

This is quite interesting! I have an 05 Mini Cooper and find that at speeds over about 30 there is loads of road noise! It really does my head in, especially on motorways! Is it worth me trying to adjust mine so that it is closer, or would i potentially be doing more damage than good?
