So I purchased a Mini with a salvaged title it had flood damage. When I scan the Car for Codes it gives me code U0101 which is "Lost Connection with TCM" However My car is a Manual but I look for a TCM anyways. I find one above the pedals and turns out the Cables were reversed so I fixed it and Scanned again then It Threw even more codes for missing Automatic Transmission sensors and parts. I called a Mini dealer and they told me that There wasn't even supposed to be a TCM in my car. I am hella confused I think it's my ECU, but Im not entirely sure anyone has any suggestions. Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Can you Swap ECU's Without tuning it or programming it?

No, the immobiliser needs coding to the car. You may have to get an ECU cloned if you want the imob to work. If not, @mike1967 I think knows BBA (guess on my part) who could make a clone for you

no they are coded to car , its possible to clone a used one with right gear , main dealer cant do that they can reprogram a new one only, something like CMD or KESS , or a top end autel diagnostics tool will , in theory insta d should be able to do it, never tried it i leave that kind of hassle to mapping company or ecu repairer

Okay so I just have to Clone my ECU to my VIN what diagnostic tool could do it for cheap or should I take it to an ECU repairer?

I Found a Mini Specialty Car Shop and they told me that They couldn't Clone my ECU since I don't have the original but They could try Flashing my ECU to see if it works would this work?
