I'm hoping to order a new MCS next week (after I've hopefully seen the new Midnight Black and Horizon Blue?).

I've been thinking about the following spec but would appreciate any opinions on it from your experience.
Just want to know if any of the options are a waste of time or I've missed something.

Cooper S with metallic paint (at he moment thinking dark silver with black roof and mirrors or one of the metallic blues with white roof and mirrors) and Chili pack.

With:

Flame alloys upgrade
Bonnet stripes
Piano black interior trim
LSD
Basic Bluetooth with USB

Anthracite roof lining (I presume the piller trims are black as well?)
Auto aircon (much better than manual?)
Heated windscreen washer jets/mirrors (will be living outside in the cold)
rain sensor & lights on and or visibility pack
MFSW (does it make much difference?)
HiFi (I know it's not great but it must be better than the standard setup?)
Sport Suspension (is it too hard? asI may possibly have my newborn baby in the car occasionally)

Looking forward to my first MCS!

that sounds like a very good spec!. I have my dooper a month and i would certainly say that the MFSW is a must, cruise control is great and i do like having the stereo controls at my fingertips.

I have the heated jets/mirrors but haven't had the opportunity to benefit from them. i wish the heated screen had come in that pack instead of the visibility pack as i had no requirement for auto lights or wipers but wouldn't have minded the heated screen as i park the car outside and the one i had in my last car (mondeo) was great. so i think if you have the spare cash and you park your car outside the heated screen would be definitely helpful but probably of no benefit in resale.

given the choice, in retrospect, i would have maybe taken auto aircon as it makes the centre console look a lot nicer. The manual aircon and the rest of the buttons on the standard one are a bit cheap looking.

I would definately get the dark silver with black decals, my favourite colour. Get the glove box too if its still extra, they seam hard to pick up as an aftermarket unit

looks good in the hood, definately get dark silver/ black, id leave out auto air con and "rain sensor & lights on" personally as they are expensive for what you get, and its not much effort to control them yourself. Also i probably wouldnt get sports suspension as i think its hard enough as standard, if you decide at a future point you could always upgrade the suspension anyway.

Flame alloys upgrade
Split rim alloys will corrode and bubble over time, only get these if you only intend to keep the car for the length of the warranty
Bonnet stripes
Depends on the colour of the MINI, but can be done after market cheaper
Piano black interior trim
Nice, but again depending on the car colour and the interior options
LSD
Got to have it
Basic Bluetooth with USB
Bot sure, not seen it, but I think with USB you can hook up an Ipod.
Anthracite roof lining (I presume the piller trims are black as well?)
Yes, all interior roof is dark
Auto aircon (much better than manual?)
Pointless and expensive
Heated windscreen washer jets/mirrors (will be living outside in the cold)
rain sensor & lights on and or visibility pack
We have vis pack and I'd order it again, its a nice option
MFSW (does it make much difference?)
Huge difference, and also a nice to have when trading in;)
HiFi (I know it's not great but it must be better than the standard setup?)
Not much better, if you want something better speak to NewMINIStuff.com
Sport Suspension (is it too hard? asI may possibly have my newborn baby in the car occasionally)
No its not too hard, its not hard enough IMO

Hope this helps:)

I've a Red/Black MCS that's similar... my comments:

Chili Pack
Best for resale
Flame alloys upgrade
Up to you but I'd pick the lightest (see thread on the subject)
Bonnet stripes
OK, not my cup of tea though with those colours
Piano black interior trim
OK, I've got this and the only note is that you need to keep it clean - it shows fingerprints!
LSD
Must have...
Basic Bluetooth with USB
I see you also have the MFSW. Why don't you get the full bluetooth as the MFSW comes with it! and you get the armrest.
Anthracite roof lining
I'd look inside one first; it makes it like a dark cave IMHO.
Auto aircon (much better than manual?)
... but is it worth the money?
Heated windscreen washer jets/mirrors (will be living outside in the cold)
If you say so
rain sensor & lights on and or visibility pack
Rain sensor drove me mad on my previous car, so I just selected the Auto-dipping mirror which is a must-have to me because it's far away from the seating position.
MFSW (does it make much difference?)
See above... but I like the cruise and the hand controls
HiFi (I know it's not great but it must be better than the standard setup?)
Why bother? I have DAB, as I'm a 5Live fan.
Sport Suspension (is it too hard? asI may possibly have my newborn baby in the car occasionally)
It's not too hard!

I've also got the rear tints, sport button, Xenons and the storage compartment package but they may be included in your spec.

You know it makes sense.
