Is this Mini S Roadster worth the price?

Eyeing a Mini S Roadster which is a Cat N. The damage sustained in 2024 was fairly minor to the right bumper and around the right rear light. All repaired to a high standard and the car has low mileage (54k, 2013). Everything else works as it should and it drives well. Clean MOT history with one fail for brake pads. Comes with a year's MOT. They're asking ÂŁ2,700 for it.

I'm looking for a daily driver to last a couple of years (or longer, ideally), and ÂŁ3k is really my max budget as just started in a new job.

Thoughts? I'm of the opinion it's a decent deal but I've had people telling me it should be half that price.

I'm not really bothered about resale value, as I know Cat N affects that. I'll either run it into the ground over a period of years or sell it privately at some point.

First three photos are of the car now. Damage is visible in the second two.

certainly in the range of needing the timing chain kit done as a maintenance item.

As Phil mentions, they all go the same way: valve seals, piston rings, etc.

Prince engines are a real Pandora's box once you crack them open.....very much an "all or nothing" type of proposition.

As far as price goes: you're in the UK, so listen to what the UK guys are saying. Price varies everywhere. At least guys commenting that are" in country" will be in the ballpark.

Are you sure that's an "S"?

I'm not up on UK models, but no hood scoop, no boot "S" markings and that single side exit exhaust seems to indicate to me it's not a turbo car.

Nice and shiny though. But shiny doesn't mean reliable......

I would say......YEAAAAAAAAAAAA. IT'S worth it. If you only could of seen what one of those looked like on the showroom floor. That roadster is defiantly one of them. Polished and shined up. IT's the favored. I would check that right trailing arm bracket against the body to make sure the body itself is not warped where that bracket is bolted but off hand it looks good. 2500 not a bad price relize the roadster commanded more money to begin with at the dealerships. It all depends on the package too I guess. Some mini coopers had the good wood rolls royce interior package.
