I have a 2010 April N18 and I have recently had to have the timing chain and guides etc replaced. I was originally quoted £830 from BMW Gatwick but after stating this is my 3rd Mini with timing chain issues they gave me a 50% discount on labour and the parts free. If you don't ask you don't get, but what added weight to my claim was that my car has had every bit of work at a BMW stealers.

I contacted other independent Mini specialists prior to getting the offer from BMW and I got quotes from £350 to £700 for timing chain and oil. Extremely varied!!!!
