Ours now done 100k miles! Built August 2010
think i can hear something from cold and around 2k rpm. Not 100% its chain though but was told chains should be replaced at 100k

Based on my last N14, anything between 5 and 12 hundred quid.
Never heard of N18 suffering from the same ailments as the N14 so fingers crossed . My has 23k on the clock. If it ain't broke , don't fix it !
It is a tricky job , needs a good mechanic .

If the N18 has the same issues as the N14 , I am gutted ! Please somebody tell me it doesn't !
If it does , then I'm getting rid of my 2013 Cooper S and going for something reliable like a VW .

*** the emissions, but could not go through timing chain issues again !
