I am considering adding some "increased entertainment value" to my car in the form of a N2O kit and was wondering does anyone else have one fitted?

If so could you advise how long you've had it fitted, how often it is used, how you have the jetting set and finally how the drive train has coped with it.

Thanks.

Are you using this for on the track racing/dragging or are you using this on the street?

The #1 thing to remember about Nitrous is that with extended use it will have long term negative effects on the engine. Whether or not that bothers you all depends on how long you plan to keep your car or whether or not replacing an engine is a problem for you.

Nitrous can give you an edge in drag racing (not as effective in other types of racing), but that advantage comes with a price. The question is can you afford it?

It's intended use is street.
Not bothered about long term effect's as I blew my warrantee 2 weeks after I got the car and started to add bits :D

Fully aware of benefits and drawback and money, hey, no pockets in shrouds are there??

I was looking for feedback from someone that has experience, prefrably on a MCS, of N2O. But thanks for your reply

Kurt, thank's for the ponters and tips and the fact my post had my looking for Nitrogen Dioxide  I was, however, aware NoS is a brand name owned by Holley.

I would suggest that if you decide to do this, that you look into the ONLY Nitrous system DESIGNED for the MINI.
The M7-Venom Kit.

I've been in their MCS and It's a BLAST.

M7 is sponsoring a 13 second MINI on the east coast... Pushing it to 12 or even 11 seconds.

It's been designed to protect you and your engine. PLUS VENOM has been a leader in Racing Technology like this.

If I had an MCS I'd bolt one of these kits in for sure.

You can usually contact Peter Horvath/M7 via email - m7speed@earthlink.net

GOOD LUCK!

Why would anyone consider something not produced and spec'd to the MINI?
Because your options are limited. Even you said 'the only choice' What's the point of only having one option?

If you don't care about warranty, there's nothing stopping you from working with another skilled and experienced company to make an upgrade. If its not designed for the MINI doesn't mean it can't be modified for the MINI. Especially important in places where the Tritec engine is in other cars around. Find someone who has tuned one of those, and they can help you with your MINI and you may have a better system for less.

Its all about choice. (If you're willing to accept the risk)

from.....M7

Greetings.....

Yes Nitrous is a blast...no it's unbeliveable giving you so much power for such a small amount
of green ( $ ) the best bang for the buck Etc. With that said there's only one system that will give you peace of mind and power in the same package and that's the M7-Venom nitrous
system, computer controlled preventing running a lean condition and the display will show
rich/lean conditions for total control. Sure there's other good systems out there but none of
them will give the same security and computer control as our system.
The other very cool thing is that we can now offer 410cc injectors that will fit in the standard
injector position with no custom bracket, this will allow you too push more juice have more
horsies on tap with safety to boot.
