I am currently getting a P0030 code "Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1)" after replacing the o2 sensor. I have checked the live data and it is flat-lining at 1.4v, Other than this the system is perfect.
Could this be a faulty sensor? It is a cheaper aftermarket one and I did drop it before installation.
Any advice or help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Your words give the answer "cheaper aftermarket"

They are basically junk that never work. Only use genuine NTK sensors from a bricks and mortar store.

As it is a circuit code, if you are able, I would put a 1amp test light on the circuit just to check that the circuit can carry current. But i think a genuine O2 should do the trick

Hi all! 2013 Roadster S here...just got the same code. As I'm looking to DIY this fix myself...I'm not sure which sensor to replace. Looking at carparts.com, I'm seeing "After Catalytic Converter Oxygen Sensor," and "Oxygen Sensor - Replaces OE Number 11-78-7-576-673" and "Driver or Passenger Side Oxygen Sensor" ---don't want to get the wrong one to tend to this P0030 code. Any advice is much appreciated! :)

No worries, let us know how you get on.

For a heads up, do not but an internet special that is cheap - they are crap and do not react fast enough. This side of teh pond we use genuine NTK from a bricks and mortar place - never had a problem

Thanks! I ordered from carparts.com and got Bosch...hoping it is actual Bosch(?). Interestingly enough, the check engine light turned itself off today, a day before the part arrives. I'll see what happens over the next couple of days and if it pops back on and the code is back, I'll replace and report back! :)

The P0597 and 3490 are the same code. They are an open circuit code for the MAP thermostat, I would start with a visula inspection of the harness from the sensor to the DME and look for damage or green crusties. Yes the sensor is part of teh circuit, but start with the basics
