Well, my euphoria was short lived. Took it for another run out this morning and although it is working, after a fashion, the fan speed issue isn’t fully resolved. Whilst in Auto mode, if I set the fan speed to “very low” it doesn’t matter what I do to the temperature setting it never adjusts itself and air just dribbles out. However, if I select “low” the fan goes to what I would describe as full speed. The fan speed now does adjust ltself on this setting, but only slightly and when the desired temperature is reached the fan doesn’t slow right down - it stays on the (too fast) low speed. So it’s working after a fashion, but really not what I would describe as “properly. I had to shut the dash vents to prevent the car getting too cold. Of course, when you do that the fan speed means the aircon gets noisy so in the end I went back to the menu and selected “very low” again. So not perfect by any measure. I really don’t know what to make of it to be honest.
‘fizzadou’ reports (see post) that after an OTA update his Climate Control is now working - how about yours, is that working now?
What about others who reported problems with climate control - have you all received OTA update that solves the problem??

would be interesting to see if had a independent temp gauge in the car to see what temps it is without using in car climate temps on dash as such,

I have had 2 issues with my brand new Countryman, they are separate to the aircon issue (which I seem to have). I tried to start the car a few days ago and got an error message saying Drivetrain malfunction. I could not start the car at all. I got out, locked the car and left it for a few minutes, opened up, got in and the car started fine, albeit with a warning to not drive it. I contacted my dealer and they took it in and did something (no idea what). Today I got in and all I had was a black screen. The car was drivable, but I could not access any features including aircon or any vehicle settings. I could see the speedo at the top and the gauges but nothing else. I did 2 or 3 trips, one back to the dealer who were bewildered. Then all of a sudden it all came back! I had to reassign the key to me using the QR code on screen.

I am not at all technically minded but I am fed up. My car is on Motability, I am going to enquire what my options are. I am reluctant to, but I will send it back and find something that is reliable.

This is a case of telling the Dealer to fix the problem and provide a courtesy car while he does. Realistically you have got to give the dealer the opportunity to resolve the problems before you can reject. If after a couple of attempts the dealer still cannot fix the problem then you are on the way to rejection.
it sounds like a software problem and as cars get more complex these things can happen, however, it is up to the dealer to fix. It may need a complete reinstall of OS9 to resolve, anyone know if the dealer can do that?

We took delivery of a U25 Countryman C Sport with a level 3 pack at the beginning of July. All OK until this week when two issues have shown up. All £ 42K of it. a. We have the issues of no spoken word in SatNav. It was fine until yesterday but it says the language is not supported but we know it is. Nothing we do will change it. b. Electric seats when we plug in the seat belt the seat is supposed to move to the saved position. It moves and then moves back again. Plug it in a second time and it’s OK. c. We cannot get Hey Mini to work full stop. Pretty poor show by BMW

As my father used to say - son, never buy a car in it's first year, let someone else sort out teething problems!
However that was in the 1960's and you would have hoped Mini had sorted the Countryman before releasing it.
Mine is due mid September so hoping gremlins are fixed before then.
I am sure your dealer will sort your problems out, but it's so damned frustrating in the meantime!!

So far our satnav has been fine. Only have level 2 so no electric seats. I tired Hey Mini a couple of times with mixed results but not bothered since - never really gelled with voice activated things in cars (although I use Amazon Echos at home oddly).
I haven’t noticed any OTA updates and my aircon continues to annoy the hell out of me even though it is partially working.
Overall I’m pleased with the car. Did a 600 mile round trip a couple of weeks ago and averaged 47 mpg. Car was loaded with 4 adults plus luggage, so pleased with that. The first section (from Kent to Cambridge) it averaged 53mpg but the M20 was 50mph restricted for half its length, which probably helped!

We did a 700 km road trip this weekend. Climate control is working perfectly for us, we have had no major issues with the car. The navigation system is quite impressive with the augmented reality. Vibrant experience is neat, it will change the interior ambient lighting depending on the dominant colours of the album art of your media. The autonomous driving features are much better than my 2023 GTI. “Assisted drive plus” essentially takes over and allows you to be hands off in heavy traffic highway driving.

Some bugs we noticed, when switching modes sometimes the navigation doesn’t pop up when called from the bottom menu, it has to be accessed from the Home Screen. Pretty smooth experience so far. For reference; we have the highest level trim countryman S in Canada.

Thanks for your feedback.
I have two questions, if I may…
1. Your Climate Control; does the fan speed settle down to the lowest speed once the required temperature has been reached? And a supplementary question, were you driving in hot weather?
2. Ambient lighting (spefically the dashboard projection); does it work in daylight or just after dark?
Thanks.

1. The fan will fluctuate to reach the desired temperature in the way that would be expected. The degree of the fluctuation and the minimum level seems to be dictated by the setting (fan speed setting). Leaving it on low seems to be ideal IMO but my wife likes it on medium. We are driving in 32degC+ weather.

2. Projectors seem to only be noticeable when light levels are low. I don’t think the intensity of the light is enough to be seen in daylight, but I haven’t checked with my hand to see if they are off. They are turning on when there’s no direct sunlight in the cabin it seems. They are working as I would have expected them to.

So, regarding the fan speeds; Is there a noticeable difference between all the speed options? In my car very low is just that, hardly any air at all, but each setting above, from Low upwards are broadly the same speed (fast). There is a slight difference but it’s only slight. More importantly, does the fan slow right down when at temperature?

My projector lights are definitely off during daylight and only ever come on when it its dark, dark enough for the main lights t9 come on. I agree with @44jefftallen in that it probably works from an ambient light sensor.

Just want to add: we picked up our U25 a couple days ago and we have the same climate control issue. Fan control is not automated and the delta between very low and low is maximum while beyond low there is no difference in adjustment. Haven’t noticed the projector lights yet — at night they are certainly working.
Me too

Spoke to Dealer today and they can’t identify anything wrong with the working of the Climate Control on their demonstrator or those in stock, their Senior Technician spoke to Mini(UK) who claimed to know nothing of any problem or complaints. Salesman also spoke to existing customers who have bought a new Countryman to ask how their cars were performing and none mentioned any problem with Climate Control. He asked me if anyone who has the problem could explain in detail exactly what the fault is and when it occurs, they will then try and reproduce it on their demonstrator and stock cars.
Anyone care to define the fault in detail and how/when it occurs?
It’s all the time on auto. The low setting is to powerful. The increment between very low and low is to great.

Yup, exactly my point. There’s no setting you can put it on that just gets the job done you’re either too hot or too cold. It’s really bugging me now!

Once the desired temperature has been reached, what does changing the fan speed do for you guys? Do you noticed a much greater delta in fan speed at that point? I suspect that when you first get in the car and it’s trying to get up/down to your desired temperature the difference between the fan settings is minimal because the system is already running the blower fast to get to your desired temperature quickly. I haven’t tested it myself in ours yet, but curious to do so whenever I get a chance.

Surely if a climate control system is working properly the fan should run at high speed until the set temperature is reached and then reduce to tickover to hold the temperature constant. The one thing that upsets my current Yeti's climate control is if the passengers temperature is set significantly different from the driver temperature.

Nope, the fan speed delta remans the same. There are slight fluctuations in speed whilst in use (almost as if it’s trying to work) but fundamentally you have two fan speeds, “very low” which is barely noticeable and high in any of the other 4 speed settings. There is a barely perceptible difference in those 4 settings if you stop the car and listen very carefully, so I think it’s maybe a calibration thing.
It’s worth mentioning again that in manual mode the fan speed settings work as you would expect, and you have 5 different settings to pick from, but numbered instead of named, oddly.

Yeah, you’d think, right, but no.
It makes no difference if the two zones are set to the same temperature or not.
