Hey guys, I recently acquired a 2005 Cooper. I am trying to get back into the DIY mindset and looking for a good all-around ODB II scanner. I don't want to break the bank, but I also want something that will do as much as possible, like resetting codes.
I'm thinking a good scanner will probably pay for itself quickly. I've scoured the forums and have not found anything that stood out. (Perhaps I wasn't using the correct search terms.🤷‍♂️) I've seen them mentioned in threads, but I don't think I've seen the same make and model listed more than once. Is there a best go-to scanner out there, sort of like Fender and Ibanez are to guitars?
I'm working on the Trifecta issue currently. It has a DSC switch that appears to do nothing when turned on or off. No lights turn on or off on the dash.
What would you suggest as a good scanner that will give the most bang for the buck?
I appreciate any input. Thanks. :)

Thank you, I had seen the Creator Scan Tools when I was looking around. They did catch my eye. I didn't realize there are tools specific vehicle makes. This may be exactly what I am looking for.
