Subject says it all really. Just bought an R50, very pleased with it. Headlights seem very good and am just wondering if they are Xenon. How can I tell? Thanks.

i have xenon head lights on my r56 best way to tell is when point car at a wall in the dark and turn the head lights on,,if they in the very first few seconds of switching on give a flickering effect on the wall and get brighter over 10 seconds a bit light a strip florescent lights in a kitchen as such,,, also on mini's the standard lights are proper crap compared to xenon, below link look like these

Thanks, Mike. I'll check when it's dark.

If I remeber correctly xenons light have to have the high pressure washers by law... though I'm in Germany so not sure if that also applies to the UK.
On my early MK I (2002) R53 I have dipped beam exenon headlights. That don't flicker at startup (at least not that I have noticed), but they do do the levelling thing within the first few seconds - they self adjust from pointing down to raising up more to normal position.
