how to remove side kick panel in R53

With two screws removed, the driver footwell side kick panel refuses, using great force, to come out. I'm trying to test the heater blower motor resistor in hope to get blower to work. The forward end of the panel is lodged behind the a/c tubing. What's the trick. It could very well be a bad blower motor, but from what I have read here, it may be the resistor. Appreciate any input. And yes, I have considered blasting the entire car. 2003 S model.

Thanks, found it. Removed the panel finally, but don't see the heater blower motor resistor. Was I wrong about the location and is it on the right side. I have been unable to find the information searching various sites. I can't even find replacement torx screws locally. Are they T20 size. The tips are blunt but the specs (thread, length) are unknown. Geez. 2003 R53. I am flummoxed in Washington. wg. Need advise.
